Please read these terms carefully before using the Sling platform. By creating an account or using Sling, you agree to these terms.
1. About Sling
Sling is a community fundraising platform operated by KNCM Group Limited (NZBN: 9429053839213), a New Zealand company. Sling provides technology that allows community organisations and individuals to create fundraising pages and accept support from their communities.
2. Who can use Sling
Sling is available to:
- New Zealand community organisations including schools, sports clubs, kura, marae, churches, charities, and community groups
- Individuals and whānau fundraising for genuine personal or community causes
- Businesses wishing to sponsor community fundraisers
You must be 18 years or older to create an account. You must provide accurate information when registering.
3. Fundraiser responsibilities
By creating a fundraiser on Sling, you agree that:
- Your fundraiser is genuine and all funds raised will be used for the purpose described
- You are authorised to fundraise on behalf of the organisation or cause described
- You will fulfil all obligations to your supporters including delivering offerings, prizes, and auction items as described
- You are responsible for all legal compliance relating to your fundraiser including, where applicable, the NZ Gambling Act 2003 for raffles
- You will not use Sling for personal financial gain disguised as community fundraising
- You will not misrepresent who benefits from your fundraiser
4. Raffles and gambling
Sling provides technology to facilitate raffle ticket sales and draw management. Sling is not the raffle operator.
- The fundraising organisation or individual is the raffle operator for all legal purposes
- Operators must comply with the NZ Gambling Act 2003
- Raffles with ticket sales under $500 are generally exempt from licensing requirements, but operators must satisfy themselves of their obligations
- Cash prizes are not permitted in raffles on Sling
- Sling reserves the right to remove any raffle that appears to be non-compliant
5. Auctions
Sling provides technology to facilitate online auctions. The fundraising organisation or individual is the auctioneer. All items must be as described. The winning bidder must be able to obtain the item. Sling is not liable for non-delivery of auction items.
6. Payments and fees
- Sling is free for fundraisers — Sling does not take a percentage of fundraiser proceeds
- Payment processing fees from Stripe apply to online transactions and are separate from Sling's fees
- Once Stripe Connect is enabled, a 0% — Sling is 100% sponsor funded applies to online payments processed through the platform
- Sponsor subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected and are non-refundable after 7 days
- Sling does not hold funds — all payments go directly to the fundraiser's connected bank account via Stripe
7. Sling's rights
Sling reserves the right to:
- Remove any fundraiser, campaign, or account at any time without notice if we believe it violates these terms
- Verify the identity and legitimacy of fundraisers
- Apply transaction caps to unverified accounts
- Share information with NZ authorities if fraud is suspected
- Modify these terms at any time with reasonable notice
8. Supporter responsibilities
Supporters using Sling to support fundraisers acknowledge that:
- Transactions are directly between the supporter and the fundraiser — not with Sling
- Sling does not guarantee the fulfilment of any offering, auction item, or pledge
- Refund disputes are between the supporter and the fundraiser
- Sling is not liable for any losses arising from supporting a fundraiser
9. Sponsor terms
- Sponsor subscriptions begin immediately on payment
- Monthly subscriptions renew automatically and can be cancelled at any time — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- Annual subscriptions (Champion and National Champion) are non-refundable after 30 days
- Sling will provide logo placement and exposure as described for each tier but does not guarantee specific impression or click volumes
- Sling reserves the right to remove any sponsor whose business conflicts with Sling's community values
10. Intellectual property
The Sling platform, logo, and branding are owned by KNCM Group Limited. Fundraisers retain ownership of their own content. By uploading content to Sling you grant Sling a licence to display and share that content for platform purposes.
11. Limitation of liability
Sling provides the platform on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by NZ law, KNCM Group Limited is not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential losses arising from use of the platform, transactions between fundraisers and supporters, or unavailability of the platform.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
